Sometimes good things come out of bad deeds.  That’s how I have decided to look at the unfortunate ending of my previous website, when one month ago, I discovered that hackers had completely destroyed my beautiful little website.  Yes, everything was gone and there was no clear path to recovery.  As it turns out, I’m embarrassed to say, I didn’t even have a back-up or screenshots to remember it by.  It’s hard to admit that someone (me) who has worked for over 25 years in the tech business didn’t have the common sense to ensure that the site was backed-up. Duh?!!  But I guess that I live by the believe that people are basically good so I just didn’t think that something like this could happen to me.

Well, as I started to say at the beginning of my blog, after a few days of anger and frustration over my loss, my husband cheered me up by going on Upwork and finding a developer who would re-design the website.  After all, there is so much change going on in technology (I should know!) that this was an opportunity to “modernize” the site and include some exciting new features.

So here it is – my new site.  I’m very proud of it and I promise that I will work harder to keep it up to date and post lots of new jewelry pictures.  I want to thank my hubby for patiently believing in Gyoie and working to re-build it.  I also want to thank the web developer, MSK Bhadan, who did all of this great work in an unbelievably short amount of time and juggling a busy student life and family obligations.  A lot of it is his own thinking and design and I can’t believe what a great team we made, working exclusively over Skype Chat, with over 13 hours time difference and and with terrible connections and download rates over very long distances.  This process continues to make me appreciate what I do for a living (my other job).  Technology is truly making our world a smaller and more connected place!

So – welcome to my new website…I hope that you enjoy my jewelry as much as I enjoy creating it!
